I have a 2001 mustang, and i want to put a custom steering wheel in it. But the stock wheel has cruise controle buttons. how to i get around that? And how exactly is the wheel instaled? Directions anyone?

look online for the harness kit and steering wheel..you'll likely just have to unplug the cruise control buttons or modify them and stick them to the side..i'd just take them off and keep a pop off steering wheel...

You're going to have issues. How do you plan on running your cruise control? and your horn? Does your steering wheel have an Air Bag? How are you going to deal with that.
If your steering wheel has an Air Bag, you will need to go to the back of the steering wheel and find the screws that secure it and remove the Air Bag. Under neath, you should find a large nut. Use an Impact to zip it off, then a steering wheel puller to pull the steering wheel. Or you can just try to pull it off. We do it on newer vehicles all the time, but I've seen it go bad. Make sure your new steering wheel's splines are the same and you get it back on the same so it is centered.
what about the airbag , don't mess with the stering wheel is better if you invest the money on suspension or engine power adders, thestering wheel is not gong to make you faster or safer.
i wouldnt advise u doing that,becuz ur steering wheel has got a air bad in it,and if u hit the wrong thing,u could activate that,and it could effect the whole car.and the car probaly wouldnt start.take to a local mechanic with reputable results,who specializes in electronics.start there.
