Will changing a car stereo affect use of the audio remote control on the steering wheel?

currently there%26#039;s a cassette/radio in the car, but i would like a CD/radio, so going to change it. will this mean that the audio remote control will no longer work though? thanks|||My car has controls for the radio/cassette player on a stalk protruding from the steering wheel (like the lights/indicators/windscreen wipers%26#039; controls etc.). I fitted a different radio/CD player and this rendered the stalk control useless. Don%26#039;t know if that will be the same for every car but this is what happened to me.|||If you change it for the upgraded CD/radio that was originally fitted in your model of car then there will be connections for the steering controls.

If you buy a generic CD/radio then you *may* be able to get a conversion kit, but usually not.|||highly unlikely... the controls are matched to the stereo... change it ans something isnt going to worrk|||on some radios there will b extra connections? sometimes this is for the problems u may be having? u probably need an extra lead or connector? i had the same problem on a Renault.|||u need a cable called a smart lead about 拢40
