My Honda civic steering wheel is not straight?

last time i hit the sidewalk when i was making a right turn, after that my steering wheel is not straight, i tried to pull straight the steering wheel and driving with out the hand, my car wasn't going straight any more, but when i pull the straight wheel in 17 degrees to the right, and with out the hand to drive the car goes straight. so does any one know what's the problem? is it expensive to fix it? is something broken that i have to change? thank you

You just knocked the alignment out - quite badly, I might add. You just need to go to a place that sells car tires and get a front end alignment done. This will readjust the settings on the steering system and correct the steering wheel not being straight as well as have the front tires pointing in a true straight direction. If you don't do this very soon, your front tires will wear very fast. You probably didn't break anything, but if you did the mechanic will notice it when he does the alignment and bring it to your attention.

Neither is my sister.
u need a wheel alignment. it should cost less then $75 .
usually a decent alignment will fix this problem. May run you about 50 to 100 dollars depending on where you go and if there are no other major issues to contend with. Good luck.
i bet that you aren't straight either
It sounds like you knocked the front end out of alignment. Most tire shops have front end machines and the cost is usually around $29 plus the price of parts and extra labor if any thing has to be replaced.
You need a wheel alignment. They will check the front end parts ( will advise you if any are worn ) and set it so your wheels and steering wheel are properly set.
it sounds like you knocked you alignment off when you hit the sidewalk take your car to pep boys or someplace that does alignment and have it checked out your tires are going to where out faster now because one tire is not straight and is dragging that's why your car pulls to the right
You may have bent the tie rod sleeve, before you go for an alignment look under the front of your car and compare the left side to the right side, if the tie rod sleeve look bent replace it, try not to hit any curbs when u-turning, then go to the alignment shop for proper adjustment and alignment.

Good Luck and GOD Bless
You bent something more than likely.
Listen to Paul- he is the only one that got it figured out!

You bent something and it will need replacing. All these kids throwing around money figure are setting you up for a shock.

Dude you hit something and bent the crap out of the little parts in your car that affect sterring. They will have to find the bent parts and replace them. It win't be cheap but it can be done and usually by an alignment shop.

Get it in now before something breaks and you die
