If I change from a factory steering wheel to an after market one what problems am I likely to encounter. ?

I own a 99 accord and want to switch from the factory wheel because it's torn up i know if I switch I will lose the airbag but what about anything else like the cruise control switches and things like that.

Mainly the air bag, like you said. You basically will have a wheel with a horn. I've never seen a sport wheel with anything more...

Have you considered going to a salvage yard, a Honda dealer or Auto part store to get a factory replacement, that way you maintain the airbag and electrics?
you will lose any function you currently have with the steering wheel, except for the horn. everything on the steering column will remain the same.
Better check to make sure it is not illegal to remove an air bag.......
Dont Do It! You cannot take off a steering wheel that has an air bag...it is against the law. But of course you can if you want a cool momo steering wheel...but if youo ever get pulled over than I guarentte a ticket. Not only that the airbag is there to save your life.....why get rid of that. I agree with going to a auto wrecking yard and buying a replecment thats in good condition.
oh dear ? ok if your putting a sports wheel on first you need the matching hub mounting as it wont just bolt straight on, you will lose the air bag but you can fit function buttons on sports wheels, then that leads to wire conversion head aches etc, dont be put off tho, a good steering wheel can look ace in a car just do a little research first, try max power and fast car ads for info or google demon tweeks, those guys will sort it out for ya, hope this helps
you will lose everything on that steering wheel, air bag, and any controls on the steering wheel itself, you might even have a hard time hooking up the horn.
