Ive changed the steering wheel , bmw 96 n reg, and the airbag light is on constantly. Can this be reset somehw

more often its a case of removing a fuse if it doesn't effect other systems or remove the bulb.

Try some bmw forums for best answer.

DO NOT remove a fuse from the airbag system. It is designed to go off under many circumstances, including power failure if there isa sensor telling it to do so. All airbag systems have capacitative stores to allow them to have power to go off when the fuse is out or the battery disconnected. If you do play with this, disconnect the battery and leave the car for a couple of hours for the capacitative store to discharge. 20 mins is probably OK, but airbags cost so much you might want to be safe.

I suspec that the main dealer is the only way you will get the light reset, and they will probably charge you a bit for it even if they don't tell you that you have the worng steering wheel and you need a new replacement!

Have you replaced the steering wheel with another steering wheel for a BMW with an air bag?

If so all you need to do is remove the positive connection to the battery for 30 mins or so.

If you fitted a steering wheel without an air bag you will need to get the air bag system disabled.

Ja.
