Is it a tricky job to change over a rover 25 steering wheel with airbag?

Ex Rover man here...2 screws to undo, back of wheel,(they were fitted with an air gun) carefully remove airbag, disconnect yellow lead, unscrew large centre nut,(that was tightened on the tracks at Longbridge with a large socket) remove wheel. ALL the screws and nuts will be very tight, but with the proper tools no problem.I don't think the airbag will be any use after !!!

hi there if it is anything like a ford mondeo you have to disconnect the battery and leave it for at least 30 mins there might be a few small screws at the back of the steering wheel be careful taking the air bag off and disconnect it there i think you will see a nut in the middle of the wheel this will be tight and awkward to get off but it will come off good luck.

Ref.to taking the screws out that they are not just screws but torx screws so make sure have specialized screw bits to do it.
And of course keep out of the line of fire of the airbag just in case it triggers. I'd try and look at a manual from your local library first if possible too see if there are any special measures to remove stored power from the circuit. After you've done this you will get an airbag warning light on the dash, which could give MOT problems.
Yes, it is - you may have the airbag explode in your face. There is special procedure that needs to be followed, otherwise.... BOOOM!
