Tire speed rating affecting steering wheel?

I just had 4 new tires install yesterday at tire plus and I notice now that my steering wheel is a little bit softer. By that I mean the steering wheel is softer or lighter when I turn it. It is not as responsive as it was before. It is more easy for the steering wheel to turn, but it takes more turning of the steering wheel before the car actually turns.

I have a 2002 Acura 32.TL that suggest V rated tires. But I had 4 new Affinity Touring tires on it with a H speed rating.

I don't know it the differences of speed rating is affecting my steering wheel to have a softer turn? or is it that the tires are new and that's just the way it is when tires are new? or could it even be the type of brand of tires I bought?

Have anyone done this before and have their steering wheel handling change?

Thanks in Advance.

It's because the tires you purchased have a more flexible sidewall. It's mainly due to the speed rating (higher speeds require stronger tire) but the brand also could have some effect.

possible just new tires and anytime you get new tires they wil feel different since they are new speed rating not really a concern unless you plan on high speeds but any tire you buy wil change the handling of the car touring tires made to travel long distance and maybe the tires you had before was more of a Performance tire shouldnt worry about it really unless your going to be driving 130 mph

this might explain it better
a speed rating not only means the tire limit (speed) but can drastically affect the handling, v speed rated tires have stiffer sidewalls and add cornering stability. you yourself noticed a difference in cornering. take the tires back and have v rated tire installed. i've been in the tire business many many years.
yes i had a 96 Z28 with ZR rated tires and went down to a lower speed rating it made steering very soft and could feel like a roll in body when turning i went back and had the correct tires put on and it was fine, you might have to go back and tell them you don%26quot;t like those tires and get something better.
its not speed rating. That maximum speed- 112mph vs 130, etc. Are tires the same size?
